Avianca- TACA Joins Sustainable Aviation Fuel Users Group

To comply with its environmental policy and promote a “greener” aviation industry, Avianca-TACA joined the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Users Group (SAFUG)—advancing the company’s environmental program, preservation of natural resources and reduction of CO2 emissions.

SAFUG promotes the development and commercialization of sustainable aviation fuels. Currently, 20 leading airlines that represent more than 20 percent of global fuel demand are members of the group.

Along with joining SAFUG, Avianca-TACA supports the commitments taken on by the industry of reducing the average CO2 emissions by 1.5 percent annually until 2020; achieving a carbon neutral growth by the same year; and reducing net CO2 emissions by 50 percent for 2050 compared with 2005.
