TACA Implements Green Initiatives

TACA seeks to reduce its carbon footprint by implementing best practices in its air operations, as well as support the conservation of the environment by reducing, reusing and recycling.

Implementing more efficient routes, taxiing on only one engine, optimizing fuel procurement and optimizing the use of auxiliary power units (APUs) contribute to a reduction in fuel consumption. On the other hand, strongly supporting programs for carbon dioxide (CO2) neutralization like Costa Rica's National Forestry Financing Fund and Panama's National Association for Nature Conservation helps reduce the airline's carbon footprint.

TACA's program is aimed at reusing and recycling paper, aluminum and plastic while creating awareness among employees. This program has been implemented in TACA's offices in San Salvador, La Paz, San José, Mexico City, Los Angeles and Lima.
